INGATE SYSTEMS ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF NEW CEO

Telecom Professional Olle Westerberg to Lead Company into New Markets

Stockholm, Sweden, October 15, 2001 – Ingate Systems, the world’s first provider of firewalls that allow enterprise usage of standardized SIP-based presence, instant messaging, conferencing and IP telephony globally over the Internet, has appointed Olle Westerberg to the position of Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Westerberg will be responsible for leading Ingate as the company continues to develop new products providing network security solutions, prepares to enter the North American market, and grows its presence in the Scandinavian market.

Ingate, a joint venture between Swedish-based Intertex Data AB and Cendio Systems AB that was spun off this past June, is focused on developing and marketing SIP-capable firewalls and firewall accessories that will enable small to midsized enterprises to utilize the latest in IP-based communications. To the entrepreneurial Ingate, Mr. Westerberg brings more than twenty years of international technology and telecom experience from positions held at companies including Ericsson, DSC Communications Corporation and Alcatel.
