Ingate Systems Signs Reseller Agreement with Ringchain Enterprise Co., Ltd.

New Partner Already Selling Ingate Firewalls and SIParators in Taiwan

Stockholm, Sweden - December 9, 2002 - Ingate Systems, developer of the world's first SIP-capable enterprise firewalls, and RingChain Enterprise, a leading Taiwanese reseller of networking equipment today announced a strategic reseller agreement to make Ingate’s SIP-capable Firewalls and SIParators widely available to the Taiwanese market. RingChain has also announced its first sale of Ingate products to Chunghwa Telecom. Chunghwa,Taiwan’s dominant telecommunications carrier with more than 1.3 million ADSL subscribers, will use Ingate as part of its VoIP services offering. This partnership agreement will enable RingChain to bring SIP-based realtime Internet communications to enterprises in Taiwan.

Ingate, a Swedish technology company with a 25 year heritage of communications and security technology development, produces SIP-capable firewalls and SIParators (a device that plugs into an existing firewall to seamlessly enable SIP) for enterprises that want the time and money saving benefits of SIP-based realtime communications including presence, instant messaging, VoIP and conferencing. This Internet based communication saves time and money, has been proven to increase sales, and are available at a lower cost than is possible with traditional phone services. With SIP, realtime communication becomes interoperable no matter what service provider is used, integrates easily into other Internet services, and makes realtime VoIP telephony as easy to use as any other Web application.

SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) is the IETF signalling protocol that allows interoperable realtime communications, and is becoming for realtime communications what HTTP is for the Web. As a new protocol, however, SIP is not recognized by existing, non-SIP capable firewalls. Ingate products are the solution for enterprises wanting SIP-based communications. All Ingate products come with a SIP registrar and a SIP proxy, support for NAT and PAT, and have TLS support for encrypted SIP signalling, eliminating the security concerns often associated with instant messaging by automatically encrypting individual messages. In addition to supporting SIP, Ingate products are easy to use, extremely cost efficient and scalable to meet the needs of today’s dynamic enterprises.

The reseller agreement includes the entire range of Ingate’s SIP-capable Firewalls and SIParators and furthers Ingate’s goal of bringing SIP-based communications to enterprises around the world.
