Ingate Launches New Software For All Ingate Firewalls And SIParators
New features include failover functionality, improved VPN with PPTP support and AES, and full compatibility with
Windows® Messenger
VON London, June 10, 2003 -
Swedish Ingate Systems AB (www.ingate.com), the leading supplier of SIP-capable
enterprise firewalls, today announces the launch of Ingate Firewall
3.2.0 and Ingate SIParator® 3.2.0, new software versions for
all of Ingate's Firewall and SIParator® products. The software
boasts new and improved features such as failover functionality,
improved virtual private network (VPN) functionality with support for
PPTP, added NAT traversal and support for Advanced Encryption Standard
(AES).
Ingate Firewall® 3.2.0 and Ingate SIParator®
3.2.0 also support SIP media over TCP. The result is full
compatibility with Windows® Messenger, including white-boarding,
application sharing and file transfer capabilities.
Ingate produces and sells the world's first SIP-capable enterprise
firewalls. Ingate also manufactures and sells SIParators,
devices that connect to an existing network firewall to seamlessly
enable the traversal of SIP communications.
"Ingate's security technology has a long history of proven,
cutting-edge firewall products. Ingate Firewall® 3.2.0 and
Ingate SIParator® 3.2.0 continue that tradition of innovation by
offering our clients the confidence of failover
protection as well as increased VPN capabilities," said Olle
Westerberg, CEO of Ingate Systems AB. "The only fully
SIP-capable enterprise products on the market, Ingate Firewalls and
SIParators offer enterprises the best value and
the ability to adopt SIP-based, real-time communications."
Increased Security with Failover Protection
Ingate's Version 3.2.0 software now supports
failover in all of Ingate's Firewall and SIParator® products.
This means that two Ingate Firewalls (or two Ingate SIParators)
can now be connected in parallel. If one should fail, the second
firewall or SIParator® will take over, providing the system with
double the firewall protection for the ultimate in
security. The new software allows SIP registrations to survive any
failover occurrence.
In addition, dynamic session management can now be used for UDP,
not only TCP.
New VPN functionality
Support for PPTP has been added to the VPN
module. Customers will also benefit from added NAT traversal (support
for VPN clients behind non-VPN-aware NATs, using the NAT-T
specification). There is increased support for clients only
using a subset of the remote tunneled network as well.
Also new with Version 3.2.0 is support for AES in IPSec. In
addition, Road Warriors can now perform IKE key
negotiations even if they are blacklisted.
Version 3.2.0 provides increased flexibility in verifying digital
certificates. Instead of uploading a certificate for
every VPN client, customers now have the option to upload a trusted CA
certificate instead. All VPN clients that can
present a certificate signed by that CA certificate can connect. The
new software allows users to require specific
clients to incorporate a certain Distinguished Name (DN) in their
certificate. A CRL file can be uploaded in case a
certificate is compromised.
Availability
Ingate Firewall® 3.2.0 and Ingate SIParator®
3.2.0 will be available from the middle of June. Ingate's customers
may install this upgrade at no charge by visiting the Ingate Website at
www.ingate.com/upgrades.php. The security
administrator can configure the firewall to automatically detect
future software updates available on the Internet.
Ingate Firewalls and Ingate SIParator® are delivered with a user
manual on a CD-ROM.
