Ingate Announces New Firewall 1450/1450+ and SIParator 45/45+

SIP-Enabling Small- to Mid-Sized Enterprises with Unparalleled Versatility

INTERNET TELEPHONY CONFERENCE & EXPO, LOS ANGELES -- October 24, 2005- Ingate® Systems (www.ingate.com), which develops firewall technology and products that enable SIP-based live communication for the enterprise while maintaining control and security at the network edge, unveils the SIP-enabling Ingate Firewall® 1450/1450+ and Ingate SIParator® 45/45+ at Internet Telephony Conference & Expo.

The new Firewalls and SIParators offer businesses unique flexibility combined with complete support for IP communications based on SIP, including VoIP, IM and video applications.

Like all Ingate hardware, the Firewall 1450/1450+ and SIParator 45/45+ solve the Network Address Translation (NAT) traversal issues inherent in SIP communications, and offer both far- and near-end NAT traversal to extend the SIP capabilities within the corporate network to remote workers. Incorporated in the new Firewalls and SIParators is the same full SIP proxy, which deliver maximum control over SIP signaling, traffic and network security as in all Ingate Firewalls and SIParators.

Ingate Firewall 1450/1450+

The Ingate Firewall 1450 has four ports and offers a 180 Mbit/s throughput. For companies needing more capacity and higher throughput, Ingate offers the Firewall 1450+, which has a throughput of 285 Mbit/s and can, for example, handle more concurrent RTP sessions than the 1450.

Ingate SIParator 45/45+

The Ingate SIParator 45 has four ports and can handle up to 120 concurrent RTP sessions. The SIParator 45+ offers higher throughput and can handle, for example, up to 220 concurrent RTP sessions.

The hardware and the functionality are otherwise the same for both the Ingate Firewall 1450 and 1450+, and the SIParator 45 and 45+.

Included with both types of Ingate Firewalls and SIParators are ten SIP user licenses which can be used for the registration of SIP users on the built-in SIP registrar. Five SIP traversal licenses are also included, allowing up to five calls to traverse the firewall at the same time. Additional SIP user and traversal licenses can be purchased at any time.

All Ingate Firewalls and SIParators are fully featured, supporting stateful inspection and packet filtering with rules defined and maintained by the network security administer utilizing the GUI. They include an encrypted Virtual Private Network (VPN) termination module. In addition to complete support for SIP, Ingate Firewalls and SIParators have a proxy for all standard protocols, including TCP, UDP, FTP and DHCP.

The Ingate Firewall 1450/1450+ and SIParator 45/45+ are preloaded with the company’s new software version 4.3, also announced at Internet Telephony. This software version boasts support for redundant default routers, encrypted RTP media, RADIUS billing, VLAN and several SIP and administrative improvements into its award-winning security products.

In addition, version 4.3 offers improved stateful inspection to meet requirements set by ICSA Labs®, a division of Cybertrust, Inc.®. Handling of media streams has been optimized offering higher performance i.e. increased number of simultaneous calls and improved call setup time.
