Ingate Unveils Firewall 1190 and SIParator 19
Sized for the Small Business, Boasting a Faster Processor
HOLLIS, NH – December 18, 2006
Ingate® Systems, which develops firewall technology and products that enable SIP-based live communication for the enterprise while maintaining control and security at the network edge, announces two new VoIP-enabling security products for small businesses: the Ingate Firewall® 1190 and Ingate SIParator® 19. Leveling the playing field for smaller enterprises, the 1190 and 19 offer small businesses, branch offices and home workers complete support for IP communications based on Session Initiation Protocol (SIP).
The new Firewall and SIParator boast a faster processor, which means quicker GUI performance in addition to higher processor speed. They are also compatible with the European Union’s Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS). This directive restricts the use of six hazardous materials in the manufacture of various types of electronic and electrical equipment.
They also enable businesses to deploy SIP trunks. SIP trunking rapidly reduces telephony costs by leveraging SIP and eliminating redundant network connections as businesses no longer need their own PST gateways and costly PRI/BRIs. The carrier provides the connection to the PSTN
“With a faster CPU, the Ingate Firewall 1190 and SIParator 19 meet the needs of our customers who find that as their business grow, they require additional processing power.” said Steven Johnson, President, Ingate Systems. “The 1190 and 19 also provide advanced security and the ability for businesses – even small businesses – to leverage the advantages of SIP trunking.”
Capacity and Features
Both the Ingate Firewall 1190 and SIParator 19 have three interfaces and offer 50 Mbit/s throughput. They are capable of handling 40 simultaneous calls (RTP sessions).
The 1190 and 19 include 10 SIP user licenses that can be used for the registration of SIP users on the built-in SIP registrar. Five SIP traversal licenses are also included, allowing up to five calls to traverse the firewall simultaneously. Additional SIP user and traversal licenses can be purchased at any time.
The Ingate Advantage
Ingate Firewalls and SIParators solve the Network Address Translation (NAT) traversal issues inherent in SIP communications, and allow for both far- and near-end NAT traversal to extend the SIP capabilities within the corporate network to remote workers. They also feature Ingate's SIP proxy technology, which delivers maximum control over SIP signaling, traffic and network security, creating one truly converged network for both data and VoIP.
All Ingate Firewalls and SIParators are fully featured, supporting stateful inspection and packet filtering with rules defined and maintained by the network security administer utilizing the GUI. They include an encrypted Virtual Private Network (VPN) termination module. In addition to complete support for SIP, Ingate Firewalls have a proxy for all standard protocols including TCP, UDP, FTP and DHCP
Sterling plans to expand its use of the Ingate SIParators and SIP trunking to other offices throughout the Sterling Bancorp network. They also plan to extend their use of IP communications beyond voice traffic, to include IM, presence and other productivity-enhancing applications.
Encrypted VoIP Calls
Ingate products support encrypted RTP (Realtime Transport Protocol), which provides a high level of security for live data with advanced encryption, confidentiality, message authentication, and replay protection. They also support Transport Layer Security (TLS) for secure SIP signaling. When combined with encrypted RTP, these protocols further shield users from eavesdroppers, hackers and spoofers.
The Ingate Firewall 1190 and SIParator 19 are available now.
